Brooklyn Police Chief Ashley Gonzalez was positioned on paid depart Friday pending an investigation into allegations of discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation insurance policies, in response to officers.

“We’re dedicated to supporting the investigation, which is able to set up the details, and to reply accordingly,” Metropolis Supervisor Mel Kleickner stated in response to Boston Globe.

Klickner stated city officers realized final week of “a number of allegations” of the police chief, in response to these studies.

“Metropolis employees instantly started an preliminary evaluate of the allegations and subsequently retained the Quincy-based Complete Investigations and Consulting to conduct a complete evaluate of the details and circumstances surrounding the allegations,” Klickner stated in an announcement.

Klickner stated former Secretary of Public Security and Assistant First Prosecutor for Worcester County Daniel Bennett and former Massachusetts State Police Colonel Keri Gilpin will lead the investigation.

Gonzalez will stay on paid depart through the investigation.
